Hartsfield-Jackson’s North Canopy Turns Red in Celebration of World AIDS Day Canopy will illuminate red to demonstrate ATL’s commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS
ATLANTA – In solidarity with worldwide efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s (ATL) Domestic Terminal North canopy lights will illuminate red at midnight on Dec. 1, to celebrate World AIDS Day 2018. The lights will remain red through midnight Saturday, Dec. 2. This illumination of more than 1,800 LED lights will be the first of its kind since the canopy’s installation. Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day was the first-ever global health day. World AIDS Day takes place on the first of December annually to support those living with HIV/AIDS, and to commemorate individuals who have died from AIDS-related illnesses.
